Day Programs for
Adults and Children
Day Program care is a planned program of activities designed to promote well-being through social and health-related services. Day program centers operate during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, in a safe, supportive, and cheerful environment. Some centers offer Respite services in the evenings and on weekends.
Day Program service centers provide a coordinated program of professional and compassionate services for members in a community-based group setting. Services are designed to provide social and some health services to adults who need supervised care in a safe place outside the home during the day. They also deserve qualified caregivers to provide the services they needs.
Although each facility may differ in terms of features, the following are generally offered by most adult day centers:
Social activities — interaction with other participants in planned activities appropriate for their conditions
Meals and snacks — members need to bring their breakfast and lunch. Snacks need to be brought if needed for medication, or for any other instructions, requested by the responsible parties for those with special dietary needs.. We also provide free basic snacks and drinks occasionally.
Personal care — we help with toileting, grooming, eating and other personal activities of daily living
Therapeutic activities — exercise and mental interaction for all participants.
In general, there are three (3) types of day centers:
Social (which provides Independent Living Skills, recreation and some health-related services)
Medical/health (which provides social activities as well as more intensive health and therapeutic services)
Specialized (which provide services only to specific care recipients, such as those with special need attention developmental disabilities.)
